Neva Marie Ward, 94 of Amarillo died Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas 79110.
Neva was born April 20, 1923 to Wesley Ray Walker and Gladys Lorraine Misner Walker in Mingo, Kansas. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1940 and took pride in being a Sandie. She lived the motto, “Once a Sandie, Always a Sandie.” She loved being a Red Hatter and working with the groups to help the children at Bivins Elementary.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Hillside Heights for their loving care. Blessings to the nurses and techs on wing four.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamon Ward; two brothers; and a daughter, Roxie Ray Shelton.
Neva is survived by her daughter, Judy Kelley of Amarillo; her son, Rockie Shelton and wife Cindy of Plainview; her adopted daughter, Denese Carrington; three grandchildren, Karmi Seton of Grants Pass, OR, Dr. Ken Glasco of Australia and Brandy Williams of Gardenville; seven great-grandchildren, Delphine Glasco, Guillaume Glasco, Landon Teague, Dillon Roten, Brayden Howard, Maggie Seton and Maura Seton; and her beloved dog, Okie Dokie.
