Nolan was born on February 10, 1991 in Amarillo, TX to Stephen and Sheri Artho. He played football for Randall High School and was an active member of Randall County 4-H. He graduated from Randall in 2009, and then earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas Tech University in 2015. After graduating from Texas Tech Nolan was employed by Kiewit Construction and Engineering in Grapevine, TX. Nolan was an avid sports lover and enjoyed cooking out with friends and family while listening to Texas Country music. Though a man of few words, the wisdom and integrity he shared was appreciated and admired by many. His wise words will always be remembered “work hard always, even when no one is looking, never expect recognition for your work but rather always take pride in yourself for it” and “it’s important to work hard, also important to have fun and kick back, be sure to make time for both.” Nolan’s actions spoke even louder than his words. With his actions alone, you could see that he was selfless, intuitive, compassionate and caring with a humble and kind spirit. He gave the best hugs, the warmest smiles, and was always a good listener. Just the mention of Nolan’s name always brought smiles to people’s faces. Nolan always made his family and his faith his first priority. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Wayne Gouldy. Nolan is survived by his parents; a sister, whom he adored with an unending love, Sheridan Visser and her husband Austin of Reeder, N.D.; his grandparents, Joe and Theresa Artho of Hereford, TX, and Charolyn Gouldy of Wildorado, TX. Also survived by several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends that are as close as family.
Family suggest memorials be made to S.W. Cowboy Poets Scholarship Fund c/o BJ Muncy, 9425 W. Costley Rd. Amarillo, Texas 79119.
