Norma Donnell, age 46, died Friday, May 27, 2011.
Memorial Service will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Hillside Christian Church, West Campus, 6100 W. Soncy, with Reverend Cameron Reeves officiating. Don Thompson will deliver the eulogy. Visitation will be at Schooler Funeral Home Monday, May 30, 2011 from 6:00-7:00 PM. Private family burial services will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Norma was born March 9, 1965 in Post, TX to Domingo and Esther Samora. She graduated from Amarillo College School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse. She married Andrew Donnell on June 28, 1997 in Amarillo. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church.
Norma was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “mom”. She worked for a number of years in the Cardiology Center of Amarillo where she considered her co-workers as her second family.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Goodcare Health Services and Odyssey Hospice.
Norma is survived by her husband, Andrew E. “Andy” Donnell; two daughters, Tiffany Fowler and Tessa Fowler, both of Amarillo; one son, Jody Samora of Amarillo; three sisters, Terry Stafford of Post, Irene Samora of Amarillo and Cynthia Samora of San Angelo; one brother, Henry Samora of Amarillo and three grandchildren, Christian, Mary and Noah.
The family suggest memorials be sent to Cardiology Center of Amarillo, 6200 W. Interstate 40, Amarillo, TX 79106 or the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd. Amarillo, TX 79106.
She was preceded in death by her mother in law, Gwen Donnell in April, 2003; her mother, Esther Samora in January, 2004, her father, Domingo Samora in September, 2005.
