Norma F. Kratochvil

Norma F. Kratochvil, 87, of Amarillo passed away Monday, October 4, 2015.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. John Valdez officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.   Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Norma was born on May 2, 1928 to Robert and Margaret Ziglear in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.  She married John Kratochvil on April 27, 1946 and in 1957 they moved to Amarillo. They were best friends and an inspiration to all.

Norma totally devoted her life to God and her family. She and her husband were founding members of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and she attended faithfully until the time of her death. She loved being a mother and totally invested herself in her two children. She adored her five grandchildren and her seven great grandchildren, and they adored her.  She loved playing bridge and socializing with her friends. Norma will be forever known for her wisdom, sweet spirit, kindness and her laughter. She brought such joy to her family and friends and will be missed daily.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Nicholas Kratochvil on January 2, 2014, and her son John Franklin Kratochvil on September 23, 2015.

Norma is survived by a daughter Sharon Bradford and husband Tim of Plano; her grandchildren, Jeremy Bradford and wife Danielle of Carrollton, Texas; Julie Dabney and husband Brandon of Amarillo; Kristy Kemp and husband Kyle of Little Elm, Texas; Mark Nicholas Bradford and wife Andrea of Plano, Texas; and Alyssa Kratochvil of Amarillo; her great-grandchildren, Ava Dabney, twins Hayden and Hadley Bradford, triplets Kayleigh, Makenzie and Drisen Nicholas Kemp, and Nathan Bradford; a daughter in law Sheryl Kratochvil of Amarillo; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
