Norval Dee “N.D.” Fields, age 84, died Sunday, October 16, 2011.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22 in Brentwood Chapel at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Kevin Deckard, Associate Pastor of Polk Street United Methodist Church will officiate.
Mr. Fields was born on November 10, 1926 to Cecil L. Fields and Florence Gardner Fields of Gage, Ok. He served in the U.S. Army and married Nadine Eaton on October 31, 1947. He studied at Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK and received his Bachelors degree in Business in 1950 and at Oklahoma State University-Stillwater where he obtained a Masters of Industrial Arts Education Degree in 1954.
He worked at 1st Federal Savings and Loan for 24 years and served as President for 5 years until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Downtown Kiwanis since 1960 and was a member of Polk Street Methodist Church since 1956. Traveling was his favorite activity and he and his wife and children enjoyed many trips together.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerry Dean Fields in 1962 and Ray Fields in 2008.
Mr. Fields is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Nadine; two daughters, Linda Oehlert and husband Fred of Amarillo, Laurie Robinson and husband Tim of Parkesburg, PA; one son, Brian Fields and wife Suzanne of The Woodlands, TX; six grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Collin and Emory Fields, Brian Thomas and Elise Mae Robinson.
