Orvelene Robinson, 71, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 17, 2014.
Private family viewing was held at Schooler Funeral Home. Arrangements were by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Orvelene was born July 2, 1943 in Mineral Wells, TX to Norbort Spomer and Gladys Eiland. She married the love of her life, Lynn Robinson, on May 12, 1966 and enjoyed 48 years of a wonderful life with him. She had been a resident of Amarillo for 14 years and previously a resident of Denver City, TX for 25 years. Orvelene was a caring and selfless person, and a pillar of strength who will be missed by all.
Orvelene was a devoted grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a special bond with all children. She served her community many years by working in the cafeteria and driving a bus for the Denver City Independent School District. She possessed a special talent for writing and telling creative stories.
Orvelene is preceded in death by her father and mother; and four brothers: Homer Gene Allen, Henry Floyd Allen, Bill Allen, and John D. Allen.
She is survived by her husband: Arthur Lynn Robinson of Amarillo, TX; two daughters: Rhonda Richardson of Rochester, MN and Julie Herrera and her husband, Ed, of Lubbock, TX; one son: Shawn Robinson and his wife, Sharon, of Amarillo, TX; three sisters: Earlene Cimental of Gonzales, TX, Marzell Edgar of Okala, FL, and Catherine Stitt of Brush, CO; one brother: Robert Spomer of Ft. Morgan, CO; four granddaughters: Cynthia Dolloff of Wewoka, OK, Amanda Pruiett of Wolforth, TX, Heather Dolloff of Hanniball, MO, and Madison Robinson of Amarillo, TX; 4 grandsons: Chris Dolloff of Elk City, OK, Tanner Wagley and Tyrell Wagley both of Lubbock, TX and Heston Robinson of Amarillo, TX; and seven great-grandchildren.
