Pamela Sue (Butcher) Sanford, 60, passed away on December 5, 2024, in San Diego, California.

Pamela Sue Sanford was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, along with her twin, Edward Andrew Butcher, to Edward William and Marilyn Kay (Mattes) Butcher on January 6, 1964. As a military child, she grew up along with her brother and sisters in different cities in the US and Germany and enjoyed playing with her friends. She grew into a focused and studious teen who knew from an early age that she wanted to be an FBI agent. After graduating in 1982 from Robert H. Goddard High School in Roswell, New Mexico, she earned her bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University and a master’s degree from Sam Houston State University. After completing her education, she diligently pursued her goals and became an FBI Special Agent before the age of 30.

She married her long-time love, David Sanford, on December 27, 1992, in Canyon, Texas. After graduating from the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, she and Dave moved to San Diego, California, where she worked as a Special Agent with the FBI. Together, they raised their beautiful children, Matthew and Jamie, along with her precious Pekapoo, Kimber, and numerous Boxers. Pam retired after 20 years with the FBI and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Pam was preceded in death by her twin, Edward Andrew Butcher, and her mother.

She is survived by her husband, Dave; one son, Matthew Stephen Sanford, and her daughter, Jamie Katherine Sanford; her father, Edward William Butcher of Canyon, TX; sisters Debra Lynn Donald of Rio Verde, AZ; and Bonnie Kay Dugie of Canyon, TX; and younger brother Michael David Butcher of Albuquerque, NM, plus extended families, dear friends, and colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial be made to Best Friends Save Them All in honor of Pamela.
