Pat Irvin

Pat Irvin, 86, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas 79110.

Pat was born January 2, 1932 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Neva Pearl Hess. She received her degree in education from the University of New Mexico and was blessed to teach special needs students for ten years. Pat treasured family and the rural way of life on a farm in New Mexico, enjoying riding horses, canning vegetables, and raising four sons. When her grandchildren came along she delighted in activities with them.

Pat had a special relationship with the Lord and was able to share her passion with others. She was active in women’s ministry where ever she lived. She loved to travel, making time for historical touring, bird watching, and riding bikes.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Hess; mother, Neva Pearl Hess; three siblings, Stanley Russell Hess, Ambrose Karnes, and Bruce Kyle Hess; one son, Paul D. Irvin; and a granddaughter, Emily Irvin.

Pat is survived by three sons, David Irvin and wife Diana of Taylors, SC, Larry Irvin and wife Elena of Moriarty, NM, and Chuck Irvin and wife Debbie of Amarillo, TX; daughter-in-law, Judith Irvin of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Neva Anne Hess of Broken Arrow, OK and Marian Kay Hess of Florida; eight grandchildren, Kerri Irvin, Tammi Irvin, Elizabeth Horek, Eric Evan Irvin and wife Heather, Betti Jo Walters and husband Greg, Joni Long and husband Josh, Zach Irvin and wife Samantha, and Aaron Irvin; and ten great-grandchildren, Trenten Walters, Kendall Walters, Kale Long, Illiff Long, Edie Long, Brandon Taylor Irvin, Desiree Flores, Danessa Flores, Destiney Irvin, and Denton Irvin.
