Patricia Jansen Nielsen, 82 of Amarillo, died February 11, 2014.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 15th at 2:00 PM at St. Hyacinths Catholic Church, 4500 Westhills Trail with Rev. James Schmitmeyer as celebrant. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Patricia was born September 23, 1931 near Electra to William Frederick Jansen and Meta Louise Dietz Jansen. She was baptized at Mt. Carmel Church and graduated from Electra High School in 1945 before attending TCU for a short time.
She married William W. Nielsen in Ft. Worth; he preceded her in death in 1993. Patricia worked for over twenty years at Russell Stationary and Whitney Russell Printers. She was a charter member of St. Hyacinths Catholic Church and served on the Altar Society, she also served as a member of the Carpenters Ladies Auxiliary for over fifty years. She enjoyed cooking and reading. Mrs. Nielsen also volunteered at St. Anthony’s Hospital.
In addition to her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Cecilia Jansen Thomsu, Mikey Anne Jansen Robb, A.W. Jansen, Lawrence Frederick Jansen and Jean Jansen Dwyer.
She is survived by her daughter, Hope Nielsen of Amarillo.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to a favorite charity
