Patricia "Patty" (Farley) Henson

Patty was born in Amarillo on January 31, 1949, to Robert and Cleo Farley. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1966 and then married her high school sweetheart Van Henson. They had two sons, Darrell and Marc, and were married until Van passed away in 2000.

Patty lived her life as Christ commanded: in service to her family and community. She volunteered over the years for Harrington Cancer Center, then acted as their volunteer coordinator for 20 years. She served on the board of the Amarillo American Cancer Society as its Chairman served on the board of Camp Alphie, was awarded Business Woman of the Year in 2012 by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, and served on the steering committee for the Chamber of Commerce.  At the time of her death, Patty was an active member in Chapter CV of P.E.O and serving as a deacon for Westminster Presbyterian Church.  She was also an active member and teacher for BSF for the last twelve years and volunteered with Bear Paws to serve the students from Austin Middle School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Van, on October 28, 2000, and by a sister Karen Thomas in 2011.

Patty is survived by her sons and their families, Darrell Henson and wife Kaci and their children, Nicole Henson Casias and husband Eddie of Canyon and Beau Henson of Phoenix, AZ, and Marc Henson and wife Shelley and their children Hannah Henson and Raeder Henson of Amarillo; a sister, Donna McLaughlin of Sheridan,  Arkansas; a brother Robert Farley of Amarillo; her beloved canine companion, Bella; and several nieces and nephews.
