Patsy Ann (Clark) Bicknell - Hickam

Patsy Ann Bicknell – Hickam, age 85, formerly of Amarillo, died June 23, 2023, in Burleson, Texas.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home Wednesday, June 27, 2023, from 5:30 until 7:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.  Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon.

Patsy was born December 12, 1937, in Cleburne, Texas, to her parents, Dewey and Mary Jane Davis Clark.

She worked in the motel industry for many years.  Starting as a bookkeeper, working her way up to the manager position at several Amarillo motels.  From decorating to the auditor to the clerk, she could and would do anything that needed to be done.

She moved with her daughter from Amarillo in 2022 to Grandview to enjoy the peace and solitude that comes with country living.    There she became fond of the Brazos River and enjoyed time spent on the banks.  Patsy also was a talented seamstress and loved sewing.  She also enjoyed a good game of Bunco, spending time with her family and her miniature schnauzers, or any animal for that matter.

Patsy was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin Bicknell; her second husband, James Hickam; two daughters, Kala Morrow, and Di Ann Givens; a sister Mary Louise Joplin; and a brother, James “Sonny” Clark.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Counts and her husband, Mike, of Grandview, Texas; her nephew, Jim Bob Joplin; five grandchildren, Layla Holt, Christopher “Chris” Givens, Tarah Wheeler, Shaun Stuart, and Casey Stuart; and by her sweet pup Dillon.
