Patsy Louise Huff

Celebration services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 8, at Trinity Baptist Church.  Rev. Nate Magloughlin will officiate. Burial will be held at Dreamland Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Patsy was born on October 5, 1928 in the Plainview community, rural Hale County, Plainview, Texas.  She passed away March 5, 2010.  Patsy was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend to everyone. She was the daughter of Thelma and Mark Williams. Her father's family were pioneers of that region.  After her father's death in 1934, her mother married her step-father, Floyd V. Brasher who passed away in 1993.Patsy graduated from Plainview High School and attended Wayland Baptist College and WTSU.  She moved to Canyon, Texas in 1945, where she worked for a short time for Pioneer Natural Gas, and was also a bookkeeper and receptionist for Dr. Robert Jarrett and Dr. W.J. Wooten at the Medical and Dental Clinic for several years. In 1953, she became a housewife and mom. In 1966 she worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Don Curtis. Education soon became her great interest and she worked for the Amarillo Independent School District for 24 years at Bonham Middle School and Caprock High School as the Principal's Secretary, retiring in 1991.Patsy married Wallace H. Huff on December 31, 1947 in Canyon, Texas, about a year after he returned from Europe having met him through a "pen pal" relationship for two years during World War II. Patsy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.Patsy's mother, father, step-father and one half-brother, and grandparents all preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Wallace H. Huff; one daughter, Linda Keefer of Arlington; three sons, William (Bill) Huff and wife, Margaret of Arlington, Michael D. Huff and wife, Debi of Canyon and James L. Huff, Sr. of Amarillo; one half-sister, Carolyn Brasher of Livingston; two brothers, Lynn Williams and wife, Jeri of Amarillo, Gordon Williams and wife, Ruby of Mt. Pleasant; one aunt, Betty Morrison of Canyon; a sister in law, Larita Huff, of Borger; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the A.C.E. Scholarship Program, c/o Amarillo Area Foundation 801 S. Fillmore Ste 700 Amarillo, TX  79101
