Patsy (Pat) Rae Wilson

May 16, 1929 — January 10, 2018

Patsy Rae (Pat) Wilson, 88, formerly of Amarillo, moved peacefully to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas.  Visitation will be at Greenwood Funeral Home Thursday, 4 to 6 pm.  Services will be at 2 pm Saturday at First Baptist Church in Amarillo.  Burial will be in Claude Cemetery, Claude, Texas.  Funeral arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, Amarillo, Texas.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.

Pat was born May 16, 1929 in Hillsboro, Texas.  She was the only child of Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Raymond H. and Corinne T. Routh.  Sgt. Routh was transferred to Pampa where Pat started 1st grade.  At mid-term, they moved to Amarillo and Pat attended Wolflin Elementary, Central Jr High and graduated from Amarillo High School.  On February 14, 1948, she married Johnny Wilson and continued her education at Amarillo Jr. College and West Texas State.

Pat and Johnny had two daughters, Karen and Sharen.  They stayed busy with the girl’s activities and their church activities at First Baptist Church.  Pat worked as a secretary at several places.  In 1974, she became a Real Estate Broker and was active in real estate at the local, state and national levels. She loved real estate and made many friends through her associations with Maurine Daniels, Della Dunn, Ada Realtors, Boston and Company and her own Prestige Realtors.  Pat retired, after 30 years, from Coldwell Banker First Equity Real Estate.  One of her special honors was being named 1991 Woman of the Year by the Amarillo Women’s Council of Realtors.

After Johnny’s death, retirement brought travel to visit her grandchildren as they grew up.  In September 2005, Pat moved to Fort Worth where she stayed active making friends and serving her apartment resident organization, Travis Avenue Baptist Church, Metroplex Republican Women and the Tarrant County Grand Jury for the 213th District Court.

Pat now joins her first love, her Lord and Savior, and rejoins her beloved Johnny, her parents, her in-laws and many more friends.  She was faithful and God blessed Pat with a long and full life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Wilson, her parents and in-laws.  She is survived by her daughters, Karen Selim and husband, David, and Sharen Wilson and husband, John Dotson; seven grandchildren, Michael David Selim, Rae Corinne Wilson, John B. Dotson, Andrew Dotson and wife, Angie, Beth Smith and husband, Cody, Ali Spencer and husband, Shawn, and Brandy Roberson and husband, Eddie; 12 great-grandchildren; her dear caregiver, Bobbie Brown, and many friends in Amarillo, Fort Worth and the Panhandle.
