Paul Keys, age 85 of Amarillo died March 24, 2015 in Amarillo.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 27th at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Mike Martin of South Georgia Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Paul was born in Celina, Tennessee on September 3, 1929 to Raymond and Marie Key but the family soon moved to Texas where Paul was raised. He married Margaret Kersten on October 15, 1948 in Memphis, Texas and would have celebrated 66 years of marriage this October.
Soon after the birth of their son, Paul moved his family to Amarillo. Paul knew there would be better opportunities to provide for his family in a larger city and provide for them he did. He will always be known to his family and those who knew him as a quiet, hardworking and humble man. He set an example for his children to follow and was able to enjoy in their successes and those of his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 PM until 7 pm.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charlie Keys and by a great grandson, Seton.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Pauline Clise of Oklahoma; his three sons, Robert Keys and his wife Carol, Tim Keys and his wife Virginia all of Amarillo, and Troy Hunter of New Mexico; six grandchildren, Cortney Wesolowski, Tiffani Robertson, Shawna Oliver, Carey Keys-Anchia, Lance Keys and Lisa Branham; and by 15 great grandchildren.
