Peggy Ann Johnson-Carlile

December 22, 1936 — June 26, 2015

Peggy Ann Johnson-Carlile, 78, of Amarillo passed away June 26, 2015.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 29th, 2015 at The Church at Quail Creek, 801 Tascosa Rd with Pastor Dale Moreland officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Peggy was born December 22, 1936 in Guymon, OK to Melvin and Lillian Tebo. She has been a resident of Amarillo since 1941.  She graduated from Amarillo High in 1955 and married Bobby R. Johnson on August 25, 1956.  They were married for 40 years when Bobby passed away in 1997.  Peggy married Jimmy Carlile on October 15, 2002.  She retired from the Amarillo I. S. D after working more than twenty years as an executive secretary.

She was the honorary Mimi at every one of her granddaughters, Ashlee and Taylor’s, volleyball games.  More importantly she loved the Lord and her family.  She was a member of The Church at Quail Creek.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leon and Johnny Tebo; and a step-son, Bobby Johnson, Jr.

Peggy is survived by her husband; one son, Brad Johnson and wife Debbie, two step-daughters, Carol Reyes and husband, Pablo of Amarillo and Kimberly Carlile of Long Beach, CA; step-son, Kenneth Carlile and wife, Karin, all of Amarillo; three sisters, Melva Swenson of Hooker, OK, Kay Wormsbaker and Paula Sarrett, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Virgil Tebo of Kerrville and Joseph Tebo of Longview; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to The Church at Quail Creek – 801 Tascosa Road – Amarillo, Texas 79124..
