Pete Alberty, 65, of Amarillo, died on September 4, 2016 in Dallas, TX.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 1208 S. Tyler St. Amarillo, Texas 79101 with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating. Interment will be in Dumas Cemetery, Dumas, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Pete was born March 3, 1951 in Dumas, Texas to Jack and Frances Alberty. He was a graduate of Dumas High School. He married Rhodora Byrd on March 20, 1970 in Guymon, OK. Pete was a respiratory therapist for 32 years. He was the CEO at Shamrock General Hospital and Hansford County Hospital. After he retired from the medical field he opened PR Sports.

Pete was a bass fisherman and was passionate about the NY Yankees. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack; brother, Raymond; and sister, Jackie.

Pete is survived by his wife, Rhodora; two daughters, Wendy Niazi of Flower Mound, TX, and Mistala Hammer and husband Kevin of Amarillo, TX; his mother, Frances of Dumas, TX; grandchildren; Cody Allred and wife Ashley, Seth Hammer and Sawyer Hammer; and a great granddaughter, Ava Natalia Grace Allred.

Pete endured his cross for the joy that was set before him.
