Mrs. Deaton was born June 22, 1919 in Garden City, KS to Howard and Mary Agnes Best. She met Hubert D. Deaton and they were married in September 1935 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1990. She was a secretary and bookkeeper for Garland Sell for over twenty years. She was an Amarillo resident for most of her life. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She has a passion for the homeless, and enjoyed visiting with them and making crocheted items for them. She was a member of First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Kenneth Deaton, five brothers, Howard J. Best, Ronald L. Best, Claud Best, Clyll Best and Sherman Best, and one sister, Mildred Hembree.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Paula Deaton of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Kevin Deaton of Rockwall, Tx, Kim Aryal of Weatherford, Tx and Karla Stoffle of Arlington, Tx, and four great-grandchildren, John and Trisha Flovin, Madison Deaton and Dolan Stoffle.
