Randal Ray York, 61, of Amarillo, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 6, 2024.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 6 pm to 7 pm, at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Randal's life will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at HIS Church, 6300 Arden Rd. Burial will be private.
Randy was born on June 17, 1962, in Amarillo, Texas, to Marshall Ray and Marcene Parlee (Mabry) York. He graduated from Alamo Catholic High School in 1980. Following High School, he attended Southwest Texas State College, graduating in 1983 with a four-year degree after only attending for three years.
Randy followed in his father's footsteps and became a die-hard Oklahoma Sooners Fan. Though he did not play or attend OU like his father, his commitment to the Sooners was as deep and unwavering.
Randy was a devoted and faithful believer in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When he dedicated his life to Christ, he became a spiritually guided man who ministered to those who needed it whenever and wherever. He truly was a brother in Christ to so many people. He left this world to continue God's plans for him in the Heavens above, fighting for us all.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife Jodi of the home, son Jacob and wife Brittany of Amarillo; son Jason of San Antonio; daughter Marci of Fort Worth, son Stephen and wife Amanda of Vega; son Bobby and Haley of New Braunfels; brother Greg York of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and his stepmother Rene York of Amarillo.
His life was blessed beyond measure by the 11 loving grandchildren who so dearly called him "Papa Randy." They include Brayden, Breckon, Gracie, Alle, Brayden, Lilly, Avery, Adi, Kolby, Kennedy, and Kash. Of course, we cannot forget the two additional great-grandbabies, Hudson and Sunny. In addition, he leaves his two nieces and many extended family and friends who felt the Godly love Randy had to share and knew the man we all so greatly loved.
