Ray was born on February 17, 1942 in Perryton Texas to Dutch and Lorene Sanders Lester. He graduated from Clayton High School. Some of his fondest memories are the days spent working alongside his father on the ranch in New Mexico.
Ray worked for Jack B. Kelley for over 40 years, but he never really retired. He was driven to work and to provide for his family. Throughout his entire life he loved to farm and the country life.
In December 1990 he married Susie Francis, the couple enjoyed over thirty one years. Together they enjoyed traveling and were able to visit Alaska, Canada and all throughout the US, as Ray was not afraid of a road trip. In what spare time he had he enjoyed woodworking and antique tractors.
Ray was a loyal friend and was very generous to those around him. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister Eunice Franz.
He is survived by his wife, Susie “Sue” Lester of the home; a bonus daughter in love, Glenda Lemaster and her husband Ted of Amarillo; a bonus son in love, Glenn Wilson of McKinney; his sister, Jackie Warden and her husband Larry of Amarillo; and many other loving family members and friends.
