MEMORIAL SERVICES will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral home, 4100 South Georgia. Amarillo, Texas.
Ray was born on December 8, 1941 in Sudan, Texas. He served in the United States Marine during the Korean War. He worked in law enforcement, and management before starting his career at Holmes Construction where he had worked over the past twenty years.
He married Teri Sherrod on October 7, 1989 in Amarillo. Ray was an avid NASCAR fan, he loved Dale Earnhart Sr. and Jr and Tony Stewart. He also had a love hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching the Iron Chief on the Cooking Network.
The family will receive visitors at their home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Tony J Evans.
He is survived by his wife Teri Evans of Amarillo; son Jason Evans of Clovis and two step daughters Casie Tucker of Ft. Bragg NC and Cristi Gooding of Amarillo, TX; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
