Raymond J. Ollinger

February 10, 1931 — February 28, 2011

Raymond was born February 10, 1931 in Groom, Texas to Walter and Bernice Ollinger. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korea war. He married Faydelle King April 6, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, San Angelo. They shared 56 years together.  He worked as an aircraft mechanic for Bell Helicopter and Lockheed for 20 years, as well as 20 years of civil service retiring from Bureau of Mines. His family was his greatest joy and he enjoyed the time he spent with them. He will greatly be missed by everyone. Preceded in death by his wife, Faydelle in 2009; his parents, Walter and Bernice Ollinger, and brother, W.H. Ollinger and wife, Evelyn.Survivors include four children, Danny Ollinger and wife Debbie , Nelle Ollinger, Diane Hassler and husband J.D., all of Amarillo, and Tim Ollinger and wife Rhonda of Dumas; nine grandchildren, Matthew Ollinger and wife Nichole, Leslie Ollinger, Joseph Mata and wife, Crystal, Melanie Montrose and husband Eric, DeMera Ollinger, Shelby Ollinger and Holly Ollinger, Stephanie Wolters,and Chris Humphrey;  and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dick Ollinger and wife, Herminia, Yvonne Keating, Sue Diller, and husband, Gerald, Tommy Weller, and wife, Dianna.The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and residents at the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Nursing Home, with their special mention of a few girls that were extra special in his heart.
