Gib loved tinkering with his Studebakers and was an active member of the Panhandle Studebaker Club, the Amarillo Antique Car Club, Western Cowpunchers Association, and St. Laurence Catholic church, serving in many capacities.
Gib and Dorella were married 62 years until she passed in January of 2012. He found love and companionship again and married Lydia Lichtie in 2014.
