Raymundo Alvarado, 73, of Amarillo, died Saturday, January 23, 2016.
Rosary will be said 6:00 PM Monday, January 25, 2016 at Schooler Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 2300 N. Spring, with Rev. Felipe Alvarez O.S.M., as celebrant. Burial will be Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia Amarillo, Texas 79110.
Mr. Alvarado was born March 15, 1942 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico to Pablo and Maria Alvarado. He married Maria Torres on July 31, 1969 in Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico. He enjoyed working and was presently at JBS Swift even though he had retired from Tyson Foods. Mr. Alvarado also enjoyed his family and will be remembered as a kind husband, father and grandpa. He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marcelino Alvarado.
Mr. Alvarado is survived by his wife, Maria; five daughters, Maria Alvarado of Rock Springs, GA, Juana, Graciela, Julia, and Olivia Alvarado, all of Amarillo; three sons, Raymond, Pablo and Michael Alvarado, all of Amarillo; three sisters, Maria, Ramona, and Virginia Alvarado, all of Mexico; three brothers, Regino Alvarado, of Indiana, Salvador and Jose Alvarado, both of Amarillo; seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
