Reba Allene Dean, 80, of Amarillo, died on Friday, December 2, 2016 in Amarillo.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Groom, 407 E. 1st Street, Groom, Texas 79039 with Rev. Andy Dietz, pastor officiating. Interment will follow at Groom Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Allene was born on December 16, 1935 in Hamlin, Texas to Raleigh and Buena Reynolds. She was a graduate of Hamlin High School and Draughon’s Business College. She began her working career as a secretary, working as an oil field secretary, a legal secretary and then a church secretary. She finished her working career as a postal worker. Allene was an avid reader, stamp collector and seamstress. She is well known for her pumpkin bread, chicken enchiladas and her notes of encouragement. Family was such a meaningful part of her life. She was a devoted fan of every school her children and grandchildren attended. Her life revolved around her faith and her family where she was considered a powerful prayer warrior for all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Warren Reynolds; one sister-in-law, Emma Reynolds.
Allene is survived by two daughters, Carole Fields and husband Barry of Groom, Connie McLain and husband Robert of Channing; two brothers, Larry Reynolds and wife Eleanor of Cedar Park, and Steve Reynolds of Jayton; one sister-in-law, Diantha Reynolds of Houston; six grandchildren, Brenda Cross and husband Stephen of Canyon, Dean Fields and wife Adrianna of Groom, Doug Fields and wife Magen of Bushland, Megan Patel and husband Vinay of Edmond, OK, Mackenzie McLain and Grant McLain, both of Canyon; seven great grandchildren, Adam, Isabella, Wesley, Colby, Nathan, Blair and Lane.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Schooler Funeral Home.
