Regina Mary Smude

April 15, 1919 — December 25, 2010

Regina was born Apr. 15, 1919, in Pierz, Minn.  She was the third of eight children born to Mary and Frank Wurzer.  She married Robert W. Taylor on Aug. 22, 1944 in Houston TX.  Four children were born, Norma, Tom (deceased), Steve, and Chuck. As a military family, they traveled the world.  The family was known as T-Texas Taylor and His Harmonious Five.  After a military career, the family settled in Amarillo.After Robert’s death, she married Stanley Smude of Buckman, MN.  Regina was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Amarillo.We offer tribute to our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister as our inspirational guide.When God gave us our Mother Regina, He gave us His very best.  Momma lived a Godly, humble life that blessed all who crossed her path.Survivors include her children, Norma & Wayne Hellman, Amarillo; Tom & Susan Taylor, Santa Rosa, CA.; Steve Taylor of Ennis TX.; Chuck & Cathy Taylor, Blanchard OK. 8 Grandchildren, 9 Great- Grand Children and one Great-Great. Grandchild. Two Sisters, Irene Majerus and Lucy Kelzenberg of MN. Numerous nieces and nephews and friends.The family suggests memorials be given to BSA Hospice, 721 N. Taylor, Amarillo, TX 79107; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
