Richard Lee Morales, Sr. passed away Tuesday, May 4th. A Rosary service will be held at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia on Friday, May 7th at 7:00 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 8th, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church. Father John Ohlig will be the Celebrant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home. Richard was born August 15, 1950 in Greeley, Colorado, but spent much of his youth in Menard, Texas. He graduated from Blanket High School in 1970, with talents in football and music. He proceeded on to college in Temple, Texas, where he met Deborah Lynn Pontruff. They were married October 2nd, 1971. Richard started his family in Hereford, Texas, then due to his work moved to Amarillo, Texas, where he spent the last 27 years. He worked at the Owens Corning plant for 26 years and had many friends there. Everyone who met Richard respected him, and everyone who knew him loved him. He will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Delia Morales; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pablo Morales and Mr. and Mrs. John Bosser.He is survived by his wife, Deborah “Debbie” Morales; his father, Humberto Morales; his children, Darlene Peña, Richard Morales, Jr., Trace Morales, and Cara Morales; his seven grandchildren; his sister, Tillie Nix of Amarillo, TX; and his two brothers, Herb Morales, Jr. of Amarillo, TX and John Paul Morales of Denver, CO.
