Richard B. "Dick" Rogowski

Richard B. “Dick” Rogowski, 90, of Amarillo died October 6, 2014.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Schooler Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 9, 2014 in St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel Dreher officiating. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Dick was born in Buffalo NY on February 27, 1924 to Bernard Rogowski and Katherine Stelmach.  He was raised in Buffalo and after graduating high school worked for Curtiss-Wright Aircraft.  He attended Conisius College in Buffalo then enlisted in the Army Corps of Engineers.

When stationed in Europe, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge.  Dick returned from WWII in 1948 to Amarillo to work for Builders Supply.

Dick married JoAnn Herrmann in August of 1949 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Amarillo.  They celebrated their 65th anniversary this year.

In 1951 Dick established the firm of Amarillo Plastic Fabricators which is still in operation today.  He was actively involved in many civic groups including Amarillo Executive Club, Panhandle Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Exchange Club, Chamber of Commerce, past director of NAPF, past president of Llano Cemetery and a past member of Amarillo Lion’s Club.  Dick was also a founding member of Tascosa Country Club, St. Hyacynth Catholic Church and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church which he attended until his death.  He enjoyed golfing and fishing with his family.

He was preceded in death by his son George in 2006.

He is survived by his wife Jo, daughter Ann Paschall and husband Joe of Washington State, son Rick and wife Charlotte of Amarillo, daughter Judy Millar of Austin, daughter-in-law Charlotte Rogowski of Minnesota and 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  Dick will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
