On September 25, 2010 Kyle was finally made perfect.  Those who know him know he faced the trials and tribulations of life with uncommon courage, grace and an ever present smile.  Kyle lived with joy and his sweet spirit affected everyone that was fortunate enough to come in contact with him. Kyle was born in Amarillo on October 1, 1967.  At an early age Kyle surrendered his life to God at Camp Kanakuk and continued to do so each day of his life thereafter.  Kyle graduated from Tascosa High School in 1986, went on to obtain a degree in Psychology from Stanford University, and Master’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Rehabilitation Counseling.  Gov. Rick Perry appointed Kyle to the Texas State Board of Architecture. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.  Kyle authored and published a book about his remarkable life titled, “Whatever it Takes.”The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM.Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Garner in 2005; and two brother-in-laws, Richard Tankersley and Ron Matschek.He is lovingly survived by his mother, Carolyn Garner; three sisters Synde Matschek of Amarillo, Jan Tankersley of Lubbock and Jennifer Nicholson and husband Tim of Denton, TX; four nieces and four nephews.The family appreciates the numerous friends and health care providers for the love and support shown to Kyle throughout his life.The family suggests memorials to be made to the Second Chance Foundation 1600 Wallace Blvd. Amarillo, Texas 79106
