Robert Daniel Harris

Robert Daniel Harris, age 85 of Amarillo passed away on April 21, 2012 surrounded by family and friends.
Memorial Service will be Friday, April 27, 2012, at 1:30 PM at Westview Christian Church, 6810 Hillside with Ron Kohler officiating.
Dan was born December 6, 1926 in San Antonio to Joseph and Harriet (Van Cleave) Harris. He graduated from Edgewood High School in San Antonio and attended Johnson Bible College and Ozark Bible College before becoming an ordained minister. He served in the United States Marine Corp and the Marine Reserves. On August 5, 1947, he married the love of his life, Nora Jean Day and they were married 64 years. Together they raised a beautiful family. He retired from Pantex after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hugh and Joe Harris and his grandson, Clint Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Nora; one son, Alan Harris and wife, Laquetta of Iraan; two daughters, Cynthia Huffman and husband George of Amarillo, Kathleen Kennedy and husband Olie of Iraan; a brother, Ken Harris of San Antonio; a sister, Margaret Bone of Eastford, CT; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren ~ Laura Burmaster and husband, Steve and children Grace and Grant; Tim Harris and wife, April and daughter Layla; Charles Harris and wife, Amber and daughters Jordan and Laura; Daniel Harris; Meredith Pechacek and husband, Cody and son Clint; Steve Huffman and wife, Renee Sprinkle and children Austin, Amos, Janee and Erin; Aaron Huffman and wife Elizabeth Schexnailder and children Seth and Caroline; Jennifer Cordon and husband Matthew and children Chandler and Madelynne; Sarah Oxford and husband, Colin and sons Brady, Colt, Bentley and Chase; Robert Kennedy; Shanna Tidwell and husband, Jonathan and sons J.D. and Caden; Colleen Kennedy and Colton Kennedy; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials made to City Church Outreach Ministry 205 S Polk St, Amarillo, TX 79101.
