Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 18th, at St. Stephen United Methodist Church. Dr. Jim Smith will officiate. A private family burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Bob was born on November 15, 1925 in Dallas, TX. He died peacefully, surrounded by love on March 15, 2010. Bob Pinkston’s life was defined by family: the Pinkston family, his family at St. Stephen UMC, his work family at Construction Services, Inc., and his many friends.Bob joined the United States Navy at age 17 and is a veteran of WWII, as well as a great patriot. He was a successful roofing contractor for 60 years and had a supportive, genuine love for his employees. Bob was a charter member of St. Stephen UMC and a long-standing, faithful member of Pathfinders Sunday School class. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fly fishing and bird hunting. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor, loved to tell jokes and stories.Bob was a man of faith, optimism and compassion. He was a loving husband to his wife Jenny; he was a living example for his children and all who knew him. Bob was a man of integrity and honor in every aspect of his life.Bob Pinkston’s life personified I Corinthians 13:13 “Now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Aubrey Virginia (Jenny) Pinkston. Survivors include his three daughters, Shelly Pinkston Ferem and husband, Bill of Houston, TX, Debby Lee Bogard of Asheville, NC and Patty Lu Pinkston Kaplan and husband, Leon of Dallas, TX; his three sons, Chris Pinkston and wife, D’Lee of Atlanta, GA, Robert Pinkston, Jr. and wife, Laurie of Amarillo, TX and Joe Pinkston and wife, Lori of Kingwood, TX; his sister, Molly Hollar of Arlington, TX; his twenty one grandchildren, Brett, Derek, David, Joshua, Kalee, Chase, Sarah, Laura, James, Aubrey, Chris, David, Will, Jadie, Mary Beck, Jessica, Caroline, Becca, Jaime, Emily, and Jake; his eight great-grandchildren, Bridgette, Jacob, Reagan, William, Jack, Trey, Ainsley and Addison and his loving nieces and nephews.
