Robert “Bob” Steele, 61 of Amarillo died Friday, July 27, 2012.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 in Freedom Fellowship Church, 55 Hunsley, Canyon, Texas, with Pastor Darren Dye officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Robert was born on September 16, 1950 in Denver, CO to Bob and Jodie Steele. He grew up in the Amarillo/Canyon area. He graduated from Canyon High and served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He married Dianna Hodges. He graduated from Amarillo College and also taught Silver Smithing for several years. He owned and operated several businesses, including the Goldsmith Shop, The Tyler Street Tavern, and Lewis and Roberts Jewelers. He also worked many years in remodeling and was known for his artistic eye and fast wit. He was a very dedicated and loving husband and father.
Survivors include wife, Dianna; a daughter, Debra Steele of Amarillo; three sons, Jeremiah Steele, Daniel Steele and David Steele all of Amarillo; and three grandchildren.
