Roberta Lurine Hyland

February 20, 1916 — October 3, 2009

Born February 20, 1916 in Mound Valley, Kansas, Bert lived most of her life in Amarillo. A licensed beautician in her early years, Bert treasured spending time with her family and friends, playing Bingo, fishing, and traveling to Las Vegas. She was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church.
Bert’s husband Kermit J. Hyland, 1982, husband Virgil Lightfoot, 1972, and a great-niece, Breezy O’Dell, June 2009, precede her in Heaven.
Known as “Nanny,” to her family, her survivors include a beloved brother, Chester E. Scobey and wife Merle, nieces and nephews, Roberta and Jimmy Davis, Dale and Cathy Scobey, and Danny and Barbara Scobey, special friend, Bob Syas, and numerous great-nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family wishes extend gratitude to the personnel of Hospice Care of the Southwest and Potter House.
