Robert "Bob" Lee Mitchener

Robert “Bob” Lee Mitchener, 76, of Amarillo passed away Thursday afternoon  August 2, 2018 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel with Cliff Miller as officiant. Graveside services will follow at MemorialPark Cemetery.

Bob was born on September 14, 1941 to Lemuel and Martha Mitchener in Malta Bend, Missouri. He married Sandra Nixon in December of 1960 in Winfield, Kansas. Bob owned and ran MitchenerTransport, LLC for many years.

He loved going to work. He also loved his family cookouts so he could spend quality time with his family.  He enjoyed his daily talks with his friend, Bill Whaley. He was a loving husband, dad, papa and friend. He was always there for his family or anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Ryan Shane Martin; two brothers: Lemuel and Ronnie Mitchener and one sister: Betty Randall. ​

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra; two daughters, Kim Martin and Becky Mitchener; two sons, Bobby Mitchener and wife Becky, and Donnie Mitchener, all of Amarillo; one sister Margaret Cox of Winfield, Kansas; four grandchildren:  Robbie, Michael, McKenzie and Cory.  four great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Emberly, Gracie and Tynlee, and several nieces and nephews.
