Robert "Gunny" J. Heberling, Sr.

Robert “Gunny” Heberling, Sr., 73, of Amarillo died April 23, 2018.

A rosary will be said at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Chapel, 4100 Coulter St. Memorial mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Robert was born May 13, 1944 in Spaulding, Nebraska to Raymond and Margaret Heberling.

He was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, acts retreats as well as a regular Adorer and enjoyed participating in community scripture studies.

Robert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Robert is survived by his dear wife, Nina of Amarillo; daughter, Heather Heberling of Palm Dale, California; sons, Robert Heberling Jr. and wife Shantel of Snohomish, WA, Sean Heberling of Waipahu, HI, and Johnathan Johnson Jr. of Arlington, TX; sister, Teresa Hunt and husband Dennis of Amarillo; brother, Raymond Heberling Jr. and wife Mary of Amarillo; 3 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
