Robert Jeffrey Blanks, “Jeff”, age 46, of Boise City, Oklahoma, was called away entirely too soon on Friday, June 23, 2023.
A memorial service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held at a later date in Happy, Texas.
Jeff was born in Ulysses, Kansas, to his parents, Robert Blanks and Linda Thompson, on July 16, 1976. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1995. In his younger days, he loved to rope calves, and although riding broncs was his favorite, he soon found out that he didn’t always bounce back as he should after a spill.
Jeff had a presence about him that caught people’s attention. Everyone thought he was a tough guy when in reality, he was a bigteddy bear that delighted in joking, pulling pranks, and inventing various random nicknames for family members and friends.
On October 24, 2015, he married Breanna Evans – or Bernadette, as some may have been introduced to her, and the adventure began.
From ranching to burning down the highways to get the kids to the next rodeo or sporting event, Jeff was ever-present and involved in the lives of his family. He instilled a rigorous work ethic in his children; he expected a lot from them but loved them fiercely.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jeff is survived by his wife Breanna; his daughter Kelsie Hill, her husband Hayden and their son, Yates, of Hereford; his two sons, Flint Blanks, and Quay Blanks, both of Boise City, OK; his two sisters, Lisa Johnson and her husband Jody of Vega and Kristi Flatt and her husband Brad of Happy; in-laws Charley and Cheryl Evans of Amarillo, brothers and sisters in law, Brian and Wendi Evans of Amarillo, and Chris and Shelley Green of Canyon; numerous nieces and nephews;and his best buddy, Ryder
