Roger Dale Stephens

Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 in Llano Cemetery. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Washington Avenue Christian Church with Rev. Jim Shelburne officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Stephens was born June 23, 1943 in Amarillo to J.W. and Nell Stephens. He graduated from Olton High School in 1961. Mr. Stephens joined the Navy and served from 1961-1967 and was very proud to serve our country. After he was discharged he married Kathy Chandler in Amarillo in 1967. Roger received an associate’s degree in electronics from Amarillo College. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Golden Spread Emmaus Community and America We Support You Texas. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Roger was a former member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and was a current member of Washington Avenue Christian Church.Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his wife Kathy Stephens, his father J.W. Stephens, and his sisters Linda Jo Elliott and Beth Stoddard.SURVIVORS: Daughter – Dawn White and husband Casey of Amarillo   Son – Todd Stephens and wife Andrea of Amarillo   Mother – Nell Stephens of Amarillo   Grandchildren – Jacob, Chandler, Nicholas, Bennett, Nolan               Many Nieces and NephewsIn lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Golden Spread Emmaus Community c/o David Dzik, 5015 Wesley Rd, Amarillo, Texas 79119, or Washington Avenue Christian Church, 3800 South Washington, Amarillo, Texas 79110.
