Ron was born November 21, 1931 in Dallas, Tx and was adopted by Clifford and Queena Pollan in Vernon, TX.
Ron loved the Lord and his family dearly. He was an ordained minister, pastoring in Texas and Oklahoma. At the time of his death he was the pastor of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. One of his favorite things was to say he was adopted twice, once by his parents and then by the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ron’s business life was extensive after serving his country. His love for driving trucks lead to owning a fleet of trucks, then he started Bandag of Dallas and Beltline Tire Center in Irving. He diversified & was licensed as a Texas Real Estate Broker & Insurance and Securities in Texas and New Mexico. He partnered in developments in Arlington and Amarillo. His last development being Lonesome Dove Estates in Amarillo.
Ron had a great passion for flying and was a licensed pilot for many years. You never knew when he would fly over his daughter’s home, to say, “pick us up at the airport, we want you to cook on the grill” or fly off to a mission conference to preach or hear the word of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 56 years, Ruby Lea, his daughter Margie, and a great grandson, Kelly Garrett Scribner.
Ron is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen, his daughter Queena Harvey and husband Barry, his adopted son Paul Pollan, grandson Jacob Scribner, and granddaughter Kaitlyn Lea Pollan.
