Rosa Mae Bearden

May 8, 1918 — April 29, 2009

Rosa was born in McCook, NE and moved to Texas in 1939 as a cosmetic salesman.  She was a resident of Phillips, Texas from 1941 to 1998 when she moved to Amarillo.  She married Ellis Bearden on August 31, 1941 in McCook, NE, he preceded her in death in June 1993.  She was a lifelong member of Methodist Churches in Nebraska, Phillips, Borger and then First Christian Church in Amarillo.  She was a homemaker all her life. She volunteered at Borger Hospital and The Continental.  She was a member of various bridge clubs and Athema Ladies Service Group.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Pratt and a son, Paul Bearden, 4 sisters and 4 brothers. She loved to play bridge or any kind of card game, even in her last hours she was playing bridge with the angels.  Her very last words were “I Love You”.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandie Walser & husband Jack of Amarillo and Sue Riddick & husband Jim of Tulia; one sister, Nora Lewis of McCook, NE; one sister-in-law, Marie Borden of Oklahoma City, OK; 9 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren
