Rosalie Imel, 82, of Amarillo died April 14, 2012 in Amarillo.
Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Valleyview Church of the Nazarene with Dr. Larry Dunlap officiating. Private family interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Rosalie was born May 5, 1929. She married Cletis Imel October 15, 1947. Cletis and Rosalie received their Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees from West Texas State University. Rosalie began her teaching career at Spring Creek in 1958. In 1962, they were employed by Amarillo Independent School District. Rosalie retired in 1990, after completing 28 years at Paramount Terrace Elementary. After retirement she became a substitute teacher and worked part time in a law firm. She served as the church organist for most of her life.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Imel and wife Bobbi of Amarillo, her daughter, Connie Whitehead and husband Richard of Amarillo. Her grandchildren, Christopher Imel and wife Sarah, Kendra McLaughlin and husband Heath, and her Great Grandchildren, Sawyer and Tucker. Her brother, Lynn Colson of College Station, TX, her twin sisters, Jeannie White of Topeka, KS and Jeanette Hess of Amarillo.
Family suggests memorials be made to Ware Living Center.
