Rosalinda de la Rosa King, 83, went home to our Lord, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Rosary, Vigil, and Interment will be at 2:00 P.M Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Hector Madrigal. Memorial Mass will be said at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Ken Keller as celebrant.

Rosalinda was born in Tarlac, Philippines on January 30, 1932 to Atty. Sabas O. de la Rosa and Maria Larracas de la Rosa, RN. After graduating from Immaculate Concepcion Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school in Manila, Philippines, Rosalinda continued her pursuit of Dentistry at the Centro Escolar University in Manila.

Rosalinda became a Staff Dentist at the Medical and Dental Clinic of Malacanang Palace at the Office of the President of the Philippines. She continued work as a Staff Dentist at the Bureau of Public Works, and then transferred to another position at the Dental Service of San Lazaro Hospital where she met her husband, Constancio. She received numerous awards for her work and efforts for the dental services she provided to the indigent families of Manila.

On March 17, 1962, Rosalinda married Constancio Y. King, a General & Vascular Surgeon. Rosalinda continued her work in dentistry and accepted another promotion at the Philippine Orthopedic Hospital. She had her first child, Annabel in 1963 and her second child, Raymund, in 1964.

Rosalinda loved to travel and on October 16, 1966, the family traveled for 6 weeks in Europe. They visited Italy, France and Portugal, and the Netherlands before finally arriving in New York on November 19, 1966.

While in New York, Rosalinda worked at Columbus Hospital Health Care System. Rosalinda had her third child, Grace in 1969. After five years in New York, the family later moved to Los Angeles in 1971, where Rosalinda accepted a position at the Good Samaritan Hospital. In fall of 1972, the family moved again to make their home in Amarillo. Rosalinda worked at the Dental Department of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center until her retirement in 1995. At the VA, Rosalinda received a Director’s Commendation and numerous service and performance awards.

Rosalinda was full of love and devotion to our Lord, her family and her community. She has been a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1972 and was very active with the Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the American Society of University Women. She was a volunteer for many years at the St. Joseph Catholic School library where she received the Principal’s Award. She also received the Outstanding Volunteer Award presented by The Most Rev. Bishop Patrick J. Zurek.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Rudolfo de la Rosa.

Survivors include her loving husband Dr. Constancio Y. King, daughter, Annabel King Hromas and husband Dr. Frank Hromas, son, Dr. Raymund King and wife Sandy King, daughter, Grace King Anderlik and husband Jeff Anderlik, grandchildren Lianne Wallace, Andrea Wallace, Alex King, Jonah King and Emily Anderlik. Her sister, Juliet Bernardino and husband Antonio Bernardino of Los Angeles, brother Alberto de la Rosa and wife Sonia of Manila, sister in law, Marisa de la Rosa of Manila, brother in law, Dr. Oscar King of San Francisco, California, sister in law, Emiliana King Henderson of Amarillo and fifteen nieces and nephews.
