Roy Levis Gray

Roy L. Gray, 85, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010.Celebration of life services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Southwest Church of Christ with Mr. Jerry C. Lawlis officiating. Private graveside services will precede the memorial service. Arrangements will be made by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Roy was born July 8, 1924 in Kingsville, Texas, graduated from Ranger High School and married Louise Meyer on November 11, 1950. He sold insurance for 40 years and retired in 1990. Roy was a one-time deacon and treasurer and a long-time active servant of the Southwest Church of Christ.Roy’s passions were his family, his church, watching football and baseball, and having coffee with his friends. He had a flirtatious and playful spirit and was loved by many. He will be greatly missed and long remembered.Survivors include his loving wife, Louise, his children Pam Robbins of Centerville, Ohio, Roy Gray Jr. of Frisco, Glen Gray of San Antonio, Barbara Ashley of Frisco and seven grandchildren.Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Gray Jr., Glen Gray, Grayson Gray, Cale Rogers, Gary Robbins and David Kempf.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the High Plains Children’s Home at PO Box 7448, Amarillo, TX  79114.
