Roy Don Walsh

Rosary Service will be held on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood  Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral.  Celebrant will be Msgr. Harold Waldow. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Roy Don Walsh, 68 of Amarillo died on July 2, 2012. Roy Don was born on November 13, 1943 in Wood County, TX.

Roy Don went to school at Price Memorial College and attended Texas Tech University. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus-Amarillo Chapter. He worked in the family business, which was Walsh Food Service, and retired from Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch where he taught meat cutting and was a butcher for Boys Ranch. He married Celia Dees on May 15, 2004 in Amarillo.

Roy Don loved to spend time with family and friends. He loved to hunt, fish, and backyard Bar-BQ.

He was preceded in death by his mother Jane Walsh and a brother Frankie Walsh.

Survivors include his wife Celia Walsh of Amarillo; his father Frank and wife JoAnne Walsh of Amarillo; three daughters Nichole Walsh Vigil of Amarillo, Tatanya Kohler and husband Andrew of Owasso, OK and daughter by marriage, Heather Hernandez and husband Ryan  of Mesa, AZ and; his son Cary Walsh and wife Wendy of Bushland and son by marriage, Richard Tuz and wife Wendi of Whitehouse, TX; one brother Dr. Bruce Walsh and wife Diane of New Rochelle, NY: and grandchildren, Dakota & Kaitlyn Walsh, Jacob & Margaret Kohler,  grandchildren by marriage, Cameron & Kaemon Vigil and Dane & Jordan Tuz.; his niece and nephew Amanda and Kyle of New Rochelle, NY.
