Ruben Gonzalez, 61, of Amarillo died January 16, 2022.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, 1200 Washington. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Ruben was born December 23, 1960 in Floydada, TX to Sabino Gonzalez and Rosa Maria Leal. He loved traveling, sight-seeing and looking at beautiful things, spending time with his grandkids, watching movies/tv, and listening to music.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roberto Gonzalez; aunt, Elvira Leal; and grandmother, Matilde Alvarado.

Ruben is survived by wife, Elizabeth Salazar Gonzalez and two children, Zachary and Crystal Jasmine and her husband Edgar and their children Kalila Ysabella and Sebastian; siblings, Maria Gonzalez and her children, Ana Rosa, Minerva and Ivonne; Rodolfo Gonzalez and wife, Marisela and their children, Paloma and Abril; Gloria Gonzalez and husband, Raul and their children, Martin and Kimberly; Rodrigo Gonzalez and his wife, Francisca and their children, Rodrigo, Adan, and Princessa; Rogelio Gonzalez and his wife, Veronica and their children, Rosa, Reyna, Rebecca, and Rogelio; Carmen Gonzalez and her husband, Edgar and their child, Jonathan; Lorena Gonzalez and her husband, Roberto and their children, Jose Juan, Bryan, and Ruby; Miguel Gonzalez and his wife, Vanessa and their children, Maritza, Celia, Ana, and Diana; Sabino Gonzalez and his wife, Rosy and their children, Sabino Jr. and Samantha; Celia Gonzalez and her husband, Roberto and their children, Erik, Miriam, Maria Jose, and Santiago; and Luis Gonzalez.
