Ruby Dell Hill Felder was born October 3, 1908 to Homer and Martha Hill. She died August 30, 2010 at the age of 101 years and 11 months old. Memorial Services will be Friday September 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City, OK at Fairlawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Schooler Funeral Home.Ruby Dell was born on the farm in a half dug out near the Delhi, Oklahoma community. Early years were spent on the farm and later in a Texas oil field town while her father was an oil field driller. While living on the farm she worked in the fields and picked cotton. When her dad bought a new tractor neighbors came to see it. Ruby Dell showed them how to drive it. After high school she attended Beauty School working for several years in Oklahoma and Texas. She married R.E. (Ed) Felder in Elk City on my 4, 1936. They spent all their married life in Elk City, Oklahoma. Ruby Dell was active in her community and church. She taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and was active in women Mission Groups. She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of Home Extension Club and Garden Club. She loved working with young people and they always adored her. She delighted in doing all kinds of crafts and working in her garden. She especially enjoyed fishing, camping and picnicking. She taught her grandson how to fish and they spent many happy hours together. Ruby Dell was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters; one brother; and a son in law. She is survived by a daughter Martha Enroth and grandson Donn Enroth.The family wishes to thank the wonderful helpers of BSA Hospice for their thoughtful care.
