Ruby O. Howell
February 24, 1914 — June 13, 2009
Ruby was born in McLean and attended school in Childress before moving to Amarillo where she spent many years working for Blackburn Brothers and Colbert’s Clothiers in various ladies departments. A loving Mother and Grandmother, Ruby loved music and was self taught in playing the piano. She enjoyed working in the garden and was blessed with family gatherings. She was truly loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.A. “Pop” Price and wife Cora Anna; sisters Velma Propes, Viola Kloepfer; brother J.B. Price; grandson Dean Kelley, Jr.; nephews Jerry Green and Dickie Propes.
Survivors include two sons, Dean Kelley, Sr. and Billy Kelley both of Amarillo, a daughter Patsy Hutto of Houston and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Dean Kelley, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Happy State Bank, 3423 S. Soncy Road, Amarillo, Texas 79119.
