Ruby "Kay" Donelson

September 13, 1942 — October 8, 2017

The heavenly choir added a new member with a beautiful voice when Ruby Kay Donelson, 75, died on October 8, 2017 following a brief illness.

At Kay’s instruction, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Kay was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on September 13, 1942 to Ewing “K.Y.” and Mary Walker Donelson. She loved school, all 12 grades in Arapaho, Oklahoma and later at Amarillo College and West Texas State University.

Kay started her career at S.I.C. and retired after 38 years as Director of Quality Control for American General Annuity Insurance Company. Active in the community, Kay volunteered with United Way, Big Brothers / Big Sisters and at The Pavilion. She was a member of the Data Processing Association.

Loving to travel, Kay visited all of the United States and a dozen countries. Kays family and friends will always remember her infectious laugh, love of chocolate and music. She was a voracious reader of all types of books. People loved Kay and she loved people.

Waiting for her in heaven are her Mom and Dad; brothers, G.W. “Bud” Donelson, Raymond M. Donelson, and Audy W. Donelson; and nephew, R. Kurk Adams.

Left to cherish her memory are; sisters, V. Lavern Riley and Nova J. Adams; companion and friend, Candice Azzalino and treasured friend, Judy Glenn; nephews, Scott Adams, Mike Riley, Kevin Donelson, Lance Donelson, Jeff Donelson, Rob Donelson and Mike Richey; nieces, Nancy Kay Dudley, Bettie Warlick, Diane Ralls, Carla Donelson and Cathy McEntire; special grand nieces, Amanda Cassady and Brooke Walker; sisters in law, Jan Donelson and V.J. “Ducky” Donelson; and so many more family and friends.

Rest in peace Little Sister.
