Rudolph John Schneider

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson and Rev. Michael McDowell officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Rudy was born May 15, 1927 in Miami Beach, Florida to Vair and Rudy Schneider.  He graduated from Eustis Florida High School and the University of Florida.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  In 1957, Rudy married Dorothy Peterson of Duluth, Minnesota.

While living in Rochester and Albert Lea, Minnesota, he served as President of Minnesota Food Technology Society and President of the Milk & Ice Cream Association.  He also served on the Governor’s Citizen National Guard Advisory Committee, the Governor’s Food and Fiber Committee for the State of Minnesota and on Albert Lea Minnesota School Board.

Rudy and his family moved to Amarillo in 1969.  In the past 38 years, he has been involved in the fertilizer industry as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Zipp Industries.  For 30 years he served as a member of the National Association of Plant Food Control Officials.

Rudy served as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church for 50 years and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

His parents, Vair and Rudolph Schneider, and sister, Barbara Cash, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Mark and his wife, Deana, of Denver; Matthew of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; and five grandchildren, Eric, Tom, Carl, Rebecca, and Peter; his sister, Jenna Broyles; and dear friend, Eric Flores.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the televised Sunday Service of the First Baptist Church, 1208 S. Tyler, Amarillo, Texas or the local outreach ministries of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2525 Wimberly, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
