Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.BIOGRAPHY: Russell was born March 30, 1942 in Truscot, Texas to Onie and Beatrice Brummett, the third of four children. He graduated from Borger High School in 1960 and married classmate Margaret Huval in 1967. Mr. Brummett taught English for 20 years in Breaux Bridge and Cecilia, Louisiana and Galveston, Texas. After retiring from teaching, he became a real estate investor in Amarillo. He loved fishing, especially with his grandchildren, reading, camping on the beach, and was an avid slot machine player. Throughout his battle with cancer, he was always positive and remained a vibrant people person. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Russell was preceded in death by his parents and his partner, Caesar the schnauzer.SURVIVORS: Wife: Margaret Brummett of Amarillo, Two Daughters, Dawn Marie Bertram, JD, of Fayetteville, AR, Debra Elias, of Poland, OH, One Son, Russell Brummett II, MD, of Bow, NH, Two Sisters, Mary Vartdal and Jane Corrigan of Amarillo.
