Ruth Lorraine Blackburn Price, 91, of Amarillo died Monday, November 14, 2011.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Rev. Dale Moreland of Church at Quail Creek officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Mrs. Price was born July 19, 1920 to Robert and Rosetta Blackburn in Lawton, Ok. She was an excellent cook that loved cooking for her family, especially Thanksgiving. Ruth was a charter member of Church at Quail Creek. When relaxing, she loved sewing. She was a lady who was easy to get to know and love. Ruth retired from Sears after a long career at multiple jobs. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Horace David Price; son, David Ronald Price; parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include her daughter Dania North of Amarillo and daughter- in-law, Georgeanne Price of Oklahoma City, OK; a son, Bud Howard of Amarillo; three sisters, Jean Thomas of Amarillo, Coleen Shaefer of Spearman, Sydenia Alexander of Claude, four grandchildren – David Kral, Michael Kral, Misti Knadle, Dayla Ross; ten Great Grandchildren – Adam Kral, Daniel Kral, Michael Jones, Holden Ross, Cameron Ross, Nathanael Knadle, Haley Romaine, Kendal Kral, Alyce Ross, and Mason Ross.
The family suggests memorials be made to City Church Children’s Ministry. 205 S. Polk, Amarillo, TX 79101.
