He is survived by his mother Julia Nelson of Amarillo and his father Neal and wife Sue Nelson of Amarillo, his brother Scott and wife Janna Nelson and his niece and nephew Brynnlee and Preston of Amarillo TX, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends whom he all loved.
Ryan attended St. Andrews Episcopal School, Crockett Jr. High and graduated from Amarillo High School in 2001. At the time of his death he was living in Houston TX and working for FedEx Ground. He believed in God and trusted in Him as his Lord and Savior and believed in the power of prayer.
He would have been 33 years old at the end of this month.
Ryan had the God given gift of a beautiful smile and the personality to go with it. He made many friends in his 32 years. He was fond of pets and just this year he rescued from a dog shelter his newest best friend, a black lab that he named Rudy. He may not have not have realized it, but he had a positive impact on many and helped save a few lives just by being their friend. He had a way of making people feel accepted and better about themselves.
Ryan did not have a mean bone in his body and gave the best hugs.
To everyone Ryan touched, his family wants you to know, your kind words and deeds extended to them, serves his memory with honor.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 11th at First Christian Church in Amarillo. The Rev Kendell Meek will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
It is difficult to let go of Ryan and we didn't get to keep him as long as we would have liked but only God knows the date and time our name will be called to join him.
